Geo-Science Engineering & Testing, LLC., (GSET) is a consulting engineering organization which practices exclusively in the field of Geotechnical and Materials Engineering. The firm was established in 1983, to provide geotechnical services to area architects, engineers, and industry. Since that time, our organization is now approaching 3,000 geotechnical studies with its current staff of 22 professional and technical personnel. Since 1983, the office has continued with the same executive staff which contributes to stability and consistency of service.
From the current corporate office located in Jessup, Pennsylvania, Geo-Science Engineering & Testing, LLC., has conducted consultant services in Ohio, Michigan, California, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Our primary service area is eastern Pennsylvania, northern New Jersey, Delaware, northern Maryland and western New York.
With the advance of technology during the late 1980’s, geotechnical engineering has exploded with the development of new concepts to economically solve more challenging and difficult conditions. Geo-Science Engineering & Testing, LLC., has strived to be at the forefront of these changes by introducing ground modifications techniques such as stone columns and jet grouting to “State of the Art” geogrid systems to our area. Geo-Science Engineering & Testing, LLC. was the first Geotechnical Consultant to use structural geogrids to stabilize weak subsoils beneath a major warehouse facility in the United States.
Due to GSET’s geographic location within Pennsylvania’s Anthracite Mining Region, we have developed innovative approaches to remediating the potential for both mining and limestone related subsidence.
In 1990 with ever increasing requests from our clients to provide site observation services during construction, we expanded our services to include Construction Testing and Observations. We have provided QA/QC on the majority of the substantial projects within our geographic area. Our technicians hold certificates from the National Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technicians, the Federal Aviation Administration, Troxler Electronic Laboratories, The American Concrete Institute, and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Technicians are required to complete 10 hours of continuing education annually. Our laboratory has been inspected by American Materials Research Laboratory (AMRL), Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and the US Army Corps of Engineers and currently meets ASTM E-329 criteria. Our AMRL Laboratory Number is 2202.
In 2013, GSET moved to digital based field reporting. We wrote our own software as it applied to our field inspections and equipped our technicians with the latest in Tablet technology.
Our work record and significant number of repeat clients are testament to the professionalism and quality of our organization. Based upon our professional qualifications and our “hands on” experience, we are well qualified to provide construction and testing observation services for this project.
We are committed to maintain an active role in the project, which will ensure timely and responsible data and schedule adherence.
